Who is up for a challenge? Who is ready to test themselves? For March, the #1MinuteChallenge is based on Press Ups. Please see my 'Give it a Go - Press Ups' exercise series on how to perform the Press Ups: http://mattswaz.co.uk/personal-trainer-blog/press-ups. The Press Ups for the March #1MinuteChallenge can be performed in a variety of ways. For a beginner, you can position your knees on the floor directly aligned with your hips. If you can do this version of the press up comfortably then raise your knees off the floor so that there is a straight line from your head to your ankles. If you are experienced at doing press ups, then you could challenge yourself during the #1MinuteChallenge by performing the press ups with your legs raised....

As a Personal Trainer, one of the common ‘reasons’ I hear from people for not exercising is ‘I don’t have the time’. With this in mind, I have developed a community hashtag on twitter called the #1MinuteChallenge. The objective of the #1MinuteChallenge is to: 1) Show that you do not need much time to get a great workout – in this case 1 minute, 2) Challenge people to work at a higher intensity in a short space of time, 3) Allow people to join a network of like-minded, motivated people who are determined to get fitter/stronger/healthier and 4) Encourage and inspire people to compete against themselves and others to improve their exercise results each month. The #1MinuteChallenge is based on a different exercise every month. The aim is to...

Who is up for a challenge? Who is ready to test themselves? Starting in February, I am going to start a '1 Minute Challenge' based on a different exercise each month. The aim is to see how many reps of an exercise you can do in 1 minute with correct form and movement. As a minimum, aim to complete the '1 Minute Challenge' at least once per week. Ideally, aim to complete it 3 times per week on different days e.g. 1 minute on Monday, Wedensday and Friday. If you commit to doing the '1 Minute Challenge' once per day as a way of getting active then great. All you have to do is commit 1 minute of your time to the challenge and give it your best shot. Then record your results and post them on my Facebook page (Matt Swaz Fitness) or on my twitter...
